The Rosemont Development Company Inc. is where the community of Rosemont got its name and was the first planned neighborhood. Just east of Manlove Road is the location where the first homes were constructed in Rosemont. On that property there was a large ranch at one time. This location is where the Rosemont Cabana Club once was. There was a large two-story home on the property with lots of orange trees.
In 1961 the first grocery store in the region opened. The name of the grocery was Lucky's Supermarket. The grocery store occupied the building that is currently the Rite Aid Pharmacy. About the same time the Wells Fargo Bank was established in the same strip mall. At the Old Park Theater, the teenagers would go watch a movie on Monday nights. This is currently the Guild Theater.
During the early 1970’s a man named Wayne Saunders relocated to Rosemont where he and his wife and children enjoyed the great schools as well as the openness of neighborhood get-togethers. Mr. Saunders remembers a large sign in the community of Rosemont that displayed a young gal riding a rocking horse with a sign saying to live in Rosemont for your children’s sake. This was all a portion of the campaign for fluoridated water in Rosemont, which was a promotion for the good health of children's teeth. Although back in the old days, Rosemont was a very friendly community, and everybody is still very friendly. It remains a wonderful community these days. In the community of Rosemont, people look out for each other. Rosemont is close to Highway 50, and is centrally located. From Rosemont, the residents of the community can easily get around to shop in Folsom and Rancho Cordova well as at the Country Club Plaza. For easy and convenient comminuting to Folsom or the downtown area, Rosemont offers four Sacramento Regional Transit light-railroad stations. This small community of Rosemont has access to a large area.
A board member of the Rosemont Community Foundation and the vice president of the Rosemont Community Association named Terry Dugan has resided in the region for some 37 years.
