Not only do we provide a free estimate for your construction project, but we will also provide you an estimated timeframe to completion. Generally, it takes around 6 to 12 months from start to finish, bearing in mind aspects like city ordinances, licensing, and topography.

The smart choice for your new home construction project is Solid Construction and Design. We help you get the most out of your budget and build a home that you will enjoy for years to come. Together, we will build the home you have always dreamed of.

There are a host of reasons why homeowners look to increase the size of their home. Whether it's growing families or new hobbies, adding one or several rooms to your home is an effective and increasingly popular means of increasing your space. When done right, not only does a home addition provide extra space but it adds value to your home and increases its aesthetic charm.

Another increasingly popular avenue homeowners take are ADUs (accessory dwelling units), which refers to a secondary house or apartment that shares the building lot of the original house. ADUs are an efficient use of existing space and are perfect for growing families or for having a dedicated space for hobbies or activities.

If you have extra space at the bottom of your garden, an ADU may be a perfect choice. We pride ourselves in handling every step of the construction process, from design and implementation to clean-up.

About Rancho Cordova

Rancho Cordova is one of the cities in Sacramento County, California. It is a part of the Sacramento Metropolitan Area and became an incorporated city in 2003. Rancho Cordova is also a Census Designated Place and spans 33.9 square miles with 33.5 square miles of land and 0.4 square miles of water. The city of Rancho Cordova is at an elevation of 89 feet above sea level.

During the gold rush period, around 1855, the city of Rancho Cordova was known as either Hangtown crossing or Mayhew’s crossing. The city was eventually named after the Cordova vineyard sitting in the middle of the Rancho Rio de Los Americanos land grant. The city bore other names, including Cordova Village and Cordova Vineyard, before it was eventually named Rancho Cordova in 1955 when a post office opened in the city. The city was later renamed Mayhew Station and then Mills Station in 1990.

There were several mining activities in the Rancho Cordova surrounding during the California gold rush in the mid-nineteenth century, of which some of the relics are still present to date. There is still evidence of the old grist mills along the American River at the top of Bradshaw. The presence of old grist mills sitting along the River earned the city another name in 1893. The town was called Mills, and the name stuck for several years.

William Leideisdorff was the original recipient of the Rancho Rio de Los Americanos in 1844; however, his death in 1848 left the grant to his heirs alongside some other properties in San Francisco. In 1855, Capt. Joseph Folsom bought the ranch from Leideisdorff’s heirs and named a town after himself - Folsom.

One major landmark of Rancho Cordova is the Mills Station, which was one of the stopping points for the pony express. The Mills Station is being renovated into a community center in present-day Rancho Cordova. Another important landmark in the city is a former Air Force base called Mather Field. During World War II, this base was used for bombardier, pilot, navigator, and observer training. The Mather Field also served as a stopping point for troops, material, and aircraft prepared for combat operations in the Pacific. The Mather Field is presently the Mather Airport and Mather regional park for use by civilians. The University of Phoenix is another important landmark of Rancho Cordova.

There are several utility services in Rancho Cordova, which include a sewage treatment agency, Sacramento Municipal Utility District for electricity, four water agencies, and Pacific Gas and Electric Company for natural gas. The Rancho Cordova Police Department, formed from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department, serves to provide security and law enforcement in the city.

Four school districts and 21 post-secondary schools cater to the educational needs of Rancho Cordova residents. The Folsom-Cordova Unified School district contains most of the schools, with three high schools: Kinney high school, Cordova high school, and Walnut wood high school. Sacramento Unified School District is next, with one high school and two elementary schools serving the western parts of Rancho Cordova. The Elk Grove Unified School district serves the Douglas Road and Sunrise Boulevard area. The last district is the San Juan Unified School District, which only has a few students in its schools.

Rancho Cordova has a flourishing art scene, starting with a unique Barrel District that is located 26 miles away from the bike and pedestrian trails. The district comprises 70 acres of beautiful creek channels and tributaries. Several events are held in the district to allow artists to showcase their art. Other points of interest in Rancho Cordova include the American River Parkway, The Mills Station Arts and Culture Center, Soil Born Farms, Edward Kelley School, and Rancho roots, among others.

The population of Rancho Cordova as of the 2019 census is 75,087, which grew 15.9% percent from the 64,776 counted in 2010. The population density of Rancho Cordova is about 2,172.09 people per square mile.

The Sacramento Regional Transit serves the city’s transport needs with several bus lines and the Gold Line light rail line. Rancho Cordova was awarded the All-American City award in 2010 and 2019.
