Additions

There are a host of reasons why homeowners look to increase the size of their home. Whether it's growing families or new hobbies, adding one or several rooms to your home is an effective and increasingly popular means of increasing your space. When done right, not only does a home addition provide extra space but it adds value to your home and increases its aesthetic charm.

Another increasingly popular avenue homeowners take are ADUs (accessory dwelling units), which refers to a secondary house or apartment that shares the building lot of the original house. ADUs are an efficient use of existing space and are perfect for growing families or for having a dedicated space for hobbies or activities.

If you have extra space at the bottom of your garden, an ADU may be a perfect choice. We pride ourselves in handling every step of the construction process, from design and implementation to clean-up.

About Woodland

Woodland, CA, is the second largest city in Yolo County and also hosts the county’s seat. The city, which also goes by the tagline City of Trees, is located where State Route 113 intersects Interstate 5, approximately 15 miles from Sacramento City. The Sacramento International Airport lies about eight miles west of Woodland, CA. The city lies within the Sacramento region or metropolis, one of the fastest expanding economies in the state of California.

Woodland, CA, was once a huge oak forest where grizzly bears roamed freely. The area’s native population was the Patwin, who were attracted to the region’s abundant wild berries, fish, and game meat. The Patwin’s peaceful coexistence with nature was disturbed by the 19th-century arrival of the Spanish pursuing gold trails. The French, British, and Americans followed soon after, seeking to strike a fortune from otter and beaver furs. The Sacramento valley became an official American settlement in the 1840s when the Mexican government allocated them the land.

However, Woodland, CA, only came into existence during the 1850s when California State emerged and established several counties, including Yolo. Families began migrating into the newly formed Woodland, CA, city during the 1860s. The new settlers constructed multiple homes, churches, cemeteries, and schools, some of which still stand today.

Nonetheless, the railroad’s arrival in 1869 is what placed Woodland, CA, on the world map and set the stage for the region’s rapid economic growth. The railroad connected Woodland, CA, to the rest of America and encouraged the authorities to invest in significant infrastructure projects to enable residents to access electricity, water, and telephones.

Several restaurants, hotels, and banks opened following these developments, elevating Woodland’s status as a city. Today, Woodland, CA, remains popular for its rich heritage and attracts many tourists eager to view its impressive collection of historic constructions within and around its downtown area.

Woodland, CA, occupies a total land area of 15.32 square miles and, as of 2020, had a population of 60,852, a ten percent increase from the 2010 figures of 55,468. The Tahoe National Park Forest and the Camper Parker Creek also lie within the city’s downtown area.

The Woodland Opera house is yet another attraction in Woodland, CA. The elegantly restored theater routinely hosts musical and theatrical performances, some by award-winning artists.
