In the United States of America, the area known as Arden-Arcade is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sacramento County, California. Ninety-two thousand one hundred eighty-six people lived here in 2010, making it California's second most populated census-designated place. Nearby towns include Carmichael (west) and Sacramento (east). The Sacramento–Arden-Arcade–Roseville Metropolitan Statistical Area has Arden-Arcade, CA, as one of its major cities.

History of Arden-Arcade is chronicled in "Sacramento ALC Historical Study 82" by Raymond Oliver of Rancho Del Paso at Rancho Del Paso, McClellan Air Force Base, California. Indigenous to the region that would become Arden-Arcade, were the Nisenan, a people from the horizon era who spoke their language and lived according to their social structure. The Rancho del Paso grant, which John Sutter secured from the Mexican governor, was originally part of a Mexican property concession deeded to John Sutter. On August 10, 1843, Sutter transferred ownership of Rancho Del Paso to Eliab, Hiram Grimes, and John Sinclair.

After James Haggin, Samuel Norris took over Rancho del Paso. James Ben Ali Haggin ran the Rancho from 1862 to 1905 and was well-known for his work breeding racehorses. Ben Ali, a horse bred on the Rancho, won the Kentucky Derby in 1886 in a world record time. From his northern paddocks, Haggin erected a railroad branch toward the current-day Union Pacific train lines northeast of the present-day Capitol City Freeway near the start of Arcade Boulevard.

Haggin's workers constructed 24 barns, each with 64 stalls and outbuildings on this property. Some of his horses went all the way across the globe from this location.

The name Arden Arcade was derived from Orlando Robertson, the owner of the Rancho and developer following Haggin, originally from Arden Hills, Minnesota. As for "Arcade," a "arcade" of oak trees stood near the location of Haggin's barns, just off Arcade Boulevard. Built-in 1919, Del Paso Country Club was named for its original Rancho and dates back to 1914 when Arden Arcade Middle School was constructed. As the city expanded across the river, the first residential districts in the region were built in the 1920s and 1930s. However, the actual construction boom occurred during World War II.

But the current face of Arden-Arcade was created between 1945 and 1970, with housing developments by John Davis, Jere Strizek, and Randolph Parks to reflect a middle-class mid-century modern neighborhood. Custom-made projects, including residences and business buildings created by Carter Sparks, the Streng Brothers, and John Harvey Carter, are scattered around the area. In addition, several Googie-style architectural constructions may be seen in the Arden-Arcade neighborhood.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates that the CDP has a total area of 17.9 square miles (46 km2), with 17.8 square miles (46 km2) of it being land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km2) being water (0.50 percent). North of Auburn Boulevard and Arcade Creek. Arden-Arcade, CA is bordered by Arcade Creek, South by the American River, West by Ethan Way, and East is bordered by the streets of Walnut, Cypress, and Mission.

Three important highways are accessible from Arden-Arcade, CA. To the neighborhood's north, you'll find Interstate 80 and the Capital City Freeway, while to the south, you'll find U.S. Route 50. El Camino Avenue, Marconi Avenue, Arden Way, Alta Arden Expressway, and Fair Oaks Boulevard are essential thoroughfares running east-west throughout the city. Fulton Avenue, Watt Avenue, Howe Avenue, and Eastern Avenue are only a few of the city's major north-south arteries.

Many of Arden-key Arcade's arterial roadways have the names of Industrial Revolution innovators. Orlando Robertson, the chief landowner of the historic Rancho Del Paso at the time, is said to have given them their names in 1915.

Arden-Arcade, CA is a cosmopolitan neighborhood in the Sacramento area with a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds. Along the American River and the American River Parkway are several gated communities with multimillion-dollar mansions, including Wilhaggin, Sierra Oaks, Sierra Oaks Vista, Arden Park, Arden Oaks, and the neighboring regions of the Del Paso Country Club. The bulk of Arden Arcade is also home to some excellent mid-century modern communities. After World War II, several of these communities were created by award-winning architects and developers, such as Jere Strizek, Streng Brothers, and Randolph Parks.

Finally, In Arden-Arcade, Ronald Reagan had a new California governor's home constructed for him in 1984. It was sold in 2004 and is now a private property. The mansion on Lake Wilhaggin Drive in the Wilhaggin neighborhood was inhabited by three governors: George Deukmejian, Pete Wilson, and Gray Davis. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger sold his Brentwood home in 2004. He moved into a penthouse at the Hyatt Hotel in downtown Sacramento when he wasn't making the journey back to Brentwood, which he often did every night. The property was then put up for auction.
