About Rocklin

Rocklin is a city that can b found in Placer County, California. Rocklin stands at 22 miles from Sacramento. As of a 2010 statistics report, there are 56,974 people residing in Rocklin. The area of Rocklin is covered by 19.8 square miles of land and 0.02 square miles of water. The elevation stands at 249 feet or 76 meters. The total population density is 3,47.15 square miles. The area code is 916 and 279, respectively.

Before the California Gold Rush hit the states, Rocklin was occupied by the Maidu people. The Maidu people were of Native American descent and had built structures as a means of residency. These structures were built alongside the river banks. These rivers were also sluiced and dredged to use as a means of transportation to remove the gold. This only occurred when the miners had arrived.

Rocklin's first developed land had been Spring Valley Ranch. This ranch was founded in 1855 by the family known as Whitney. Whitney had actually had the farm occupied with sheep and many other agricultural products. As Whitney's ranch was being developed, it was subdivided and sold off to various buyers. The intention behind selling off the land was to create suburban communities. Miners and their families and travelers or permanent residents were seeking Rocklin as a place of permanent residency. By the 1960s, a golf course was developed and name the Sunset Whitney Neighborhood.

As the community was growing in Rocklin, it was also time for the business sector to develop within Rocklin. Rocklin was also known for its transportation of granite bridges and stones.
