About Auburn

Auburn, CA, is notable for its role in the California Gold Rush and is recognized as a California Historical Landmark. Auburn is a city in Placer County, California, also serving as the county seat. Auburn Ravine was established in the spring of 1848 when a party of French gold miners came to reside at the Ravine.
