Good Construction

For years, we've built conventional ADUs. Prefab mobile homes aren't what we do. For many years, we've focused on offering consumers long-term benefits. After all, houses are built to last.

Multiple cornerstones go into a construction process, including planning, strategy, and experience. Predictability and order are what we're after. Due to our end-to-end construction method, there won't be any disappointments, proving that we're the best ADU builder around.

Advantages of Building Accessory Dwelling Units in West Sacramento

Building an additional unit at a single-family home property does not sound like a good idea to many people. Besides, new construction will consume further space on your land and will open a gateway to several expenses and other construction-related problems.

Of course, building an ADU is not a walk in the park; it comes with its challenges. But as professional ADU builders, we tell you it has a range of benefits to offer.

As expert ADU builders, we believe the most typical use for such accessory dwelling units includes the following:

Guesthouse

It can be inconvenient if your friends and family come over often and stay for a while. Hence, ADUs are the most practical way to accommodate the guests here to visit you. An ADU will have its own bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom, so they won't have to invade your living space for basic amenities. This way, they can stay with you for as long as they like without feeling like a burden or interfering in your personal life.

Can Serve as a Residence for the Family's Upcoming Generation

Members of the family who are old can use the ADU you built. They will need your continued attention and may find it difficult to reside in different cities far from you. As different generations don't usually vibe together, it is a good idea to separate their living space while still being close to them. The youngsters can party, and the elderly can peacefully spend their alone time.

Americans call accessory dwelling units "Granny Flats" because elderly family members often use them as living spaces. As a bonus, they're convenient for the whole family. Your West Sacramento home will benefit from them.

Source of Passive Income (Rental Income)

This benefit can only be acquired if your ADU unit is placed strategically. If it fulfills all the property regulations and complies with the law, you might be able to get a permit for renting it out. It will enable your tenants to live peacefully while giving you extra monthly money.

Home Office, Workshop, and Studio

It is very practical to build an ADU if the landowners work remotely. If you have a separate facility from where you live, you can work peacefully without being disturbed by people you share a home with or household chores. It's a simple option to walk across the backyard to get to work quickly, not to add the change of scenery and fresh air.

About West Sacramento

West Sacramento is a city in Yolo County, California. The county of Sacramento was named so by Captain Moraga after the Sacramento River, the word Sacramento meaning sacrament. The city of West Sacramento is separated from Sacramento by the Sacramento River and it covers a total area of 59km2 of which 3.6km2 is water. The cities neighboring West Sacramento in California are Sacramento, Florin, Rio Linda, Rosemont, La Riviera, Carmichael, North Highlands, Davis, Rancho Cordova, Foothill Farms, Elk Grove, Fair Oaks, Woodland, Citrus Heights and Roseville. The capital of each listed city is within 18 miles of West Sacramento.

West Sacramento experiences a typical Mediterranean climate, with hot, arid and mostly clear summers accompanied by short, cold, wet and partly cloudy winters. The city is particularly susceptible to flooding due to its’ location at the confluence of the Sacramento and the American Rivers. Flooding was a very serious issue in the past on an annual basis but reclamation greatly helped reduce the problem early in the 20th century.

West Sacramento has a Council/Manager form of government with four city council members who are elected and serve a four-year term, these in turn directly elect the mayor who serves a two-year term. Currently in these offices are Mayor Martha Guerrero, Council Member Quirina Orozco, Council Member Norma Alcala, Council Member Chris Ledesma and Council Member Dawnté Early.

The city of West Sacramento has a long and rich history dating to about four thousand years ago beginning with the first inhabitants of the region, the Patwin Indians. With the influx of European settlers in the 19th century the population of the Patwin Indians reduced greatly because of the diseases brought about by the new settlers like smallpox. The next significant occurrence in the region was the flourishing of business and shipping activity because of the presence of the Sacramento River. One of the first companies in the region was the California Steam Navigation Company. The region flourished greatly with the increase in economic activities, particularly fishing, farming and dairy farming. After 1900, there had developed three communities known as Bryte, Broderick and West Sacramento and these were collectively known as East Yolo. These three are the foundation of the city we now know as West Sacramento.

As of 2020, the population of West Sacramento was 53,273, a 9.07% increase from the 2010 census. The median age in West Sacramento is 34.3 years with slightly more women than men but only by a small margin. The residents have a larger poverty rate than the national average, the national average being 11.4% while the city’s is 15.84%. The city has an unemployment rate of 6.1 % with the US average being 6%. Jobs are projected to increase but at a slower rate than the national average. The average annual income for an individual is $25,081 in West Sacramento which is lower than the national average of $28,555. Because of the city’s proximity to an airport and its’ connection of railways and highways, the city is a hub of economic activity. West Sacramento’s port also provides easy access to the Pacific Ocean through the San Francisco Bay allowing easy access to the Pacific Rim markets. Government agencies are some of the top employers in this city. Other sectors include healthcare, transport and agriculture.

The main means of transport in West Sacramento are road and rail. The city also has the Port of West Sacramento which is an inland port, the port is however a “non-container” port because it is not designed to handle cargo ships hence it does not receive a large volume of ships like other ports in California. There are no airports in the city.

Education facilities in the city are sufficient with 9 pre-schools, 19 elementary schools, 17 middle schools and 8 high schools. Some examples are Yolo High School and Sacramento Valley Charter School. There are no colleges or universities in the city however in the bordering cities there are such institutions, the closest being Sacramento City College in Sacramento.

The city has some areas worth visiting which are West Sacramento Recreation festival and The Barn among others. There are also some annual events held in the city like Amador Barbera Festival. The city also boasts some notable mentions like Oleg Maskaev the heavyweight boxer.

It is evident that the city of West Sacramento has a lot of character about it and such a place is a place worth visiting.
