Solid Construction & Design is a family-owned company serving Sacramento and Northern California. For more than 20 years, we have built our reputation on careful workmanship and dependable service. Every remodel and larger residential project is held to a standard of quality we are prepared to stand behind. We approach each home with the care and judgment expected of work that is meant to last.
The Founders
Family as the Foundation
Oleg and Roman were born and raised in Ukraine, where they learned early that nothing comes without hard work. Their father, a “measure twice, cut once” kind of man, instilled in the brothers a commitment to getting it right the first time. They spent years working construction side by side, and they still genuinely love the work.

Today Oleg is president and chief executive, and Roman is chief sales and marketing officer. The company has grown well beyond the two of them, and the ownership has stayed where it started, with other members of the Kravchuk family involved in the business.

Our History
From an Office on Auburn Boulevard to a Showroom on Fulton Avenue
The company has grown in steps, and each one has added a meaningful chapter to the story of what Solid Construction & Design has become today.
The First Years of Building
In 2005, Oleg and Roman Kravchuk began working in construction as a team, years before Solid Construction & Design existed. Those early years laid the groundwork for the more than two decades of experience the company brings to every home today.
Two Brothers Register Solid
In 2011, Oleg and Roman Kravchuk registered Solid Construction & Design in Sacramento with a simple standard: every remodel should be handled with the same care and respect they would expect in their own homes.
A Bigger Volume of Work
Through a partnership with Guardian, a property investment firm that flipped homes at high volume, Oleg and Roman took on whole-house remodels, sometimes turning one around in as little as a week. That pace taught them how much good construction depends on careful preparation and coordination, and those lessons shaped how Solid approached larger projects in the years ahead.
Building the Credentials Behind the Work
As the company grew, it built the credentials and protections homeowners should expect from a contractor. Solid holds California contractor’s license #975441 (CSLB), general liability coverage of $1M per occurrence and $2M aggregate, and workers’ compensation insurance. It is a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating, holds EGIA Energy Star credentials and EPA Lead-Safe Certification. It is also a member of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) and the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA).
Expanding Beyond Remodeling
Solid Construction & Design expanded into new construction, home additions, ADUs, and garage conversions, broadening the company well beyond its remodeling roots.
A New Home on Fulton Avenue
Solid moved into its new home at 1415 Fulton Ave, in the Filco building, the Sacramento appliance store founded in 1971 that the family purchased in 2024. Together, the two businesses now share a 28,000-square-foot design and appliance showroom where homeowners can see and compare materials and appliances at full scale, all under one roof. Look for the Filco sign out front.
Still Family-Run Today
We are proud to say that today we have completed 2,000+ projects across Sacramento and Northern California, spanning remodeling and larger residential construction. The same two brothers who started it still own and lead the company.

You receive a written estimate at no cost before any work is scheduled. It gives you a real number to compare before you commit to anything.
Financing through lending partners
Solid works with lending partners, including Medallion Bank, which offers loan terms of up to 15 years with no prepayment penalty. All financing is subject to credit approval.
A written warranty behind the work
We provide a one-year installation warranty, alongside California’s 10-year standard for certain construction defects.
